Haven Homes

The History of Haven Homes

In 1985 six cottages were purchased in Aberdeen Street, Woodstock. The cottages were renovated and homeless people who had responded well to rehabilitation and who had secured pensions or disability grants were filtered through the shelters to these cottages. Here they live communally and independently, sharing the costs of housekeeping. A supervisor lives in one of the cottages and is always there to give practical help and advice. Social work services are also rendered.

In 1993 the construction of the Essex Street complex was completed. Essex Street accommodates 76 people, and Aberdeen Street accommodates 30.
Also provides frail care facilities for indigent persons.
