The History of Haven Homes
In 1985 six cottages were purchased in Aberdeen Street, Woodstock. The cottages were renovated and homeless people who had responded well to rehabilitation and who had secured pensions or disability grants were filtered through the shelters to these cottages. Here they live communally and independently, sharing the costs of housekeeping. A supervisor lives in one of the cottages and is always there to give practical help and advice. Social work services are also rendered.
In 1993 the construction of the Essex Street complex was completed. Essex Street accommodates 76 people, and Aberdeen Street accommodates 30. Also provides frail care facilities for indigent persons.

Our Mission
To make available temporary shelter, rehabilitation opportunities, social welfare services, family reunification services, physical care and support to adult people living on the streets who are committed to reintegration. To partner and co-operate with religious institutions, organisations, welfare bodies, service providers, businesses, government departments, local authorities and individuals concerned with the care and welfare of the destitute. To promote community awareness of the social problems arising out of destitution and to encourage the participation of the public in the alleviation of such problems.
